Storage Meets Style

An outdated space with limited storage gets an extraordinary kitchen makeover

When Eric and Nancy purchased their home 17 years ago, the original kitchen was inherited with the house, and, even though already outdated and lacking storage then, they tried to make do with the space over the years.

"We purchased a couple of shelf solutions, but it was a functional, not attractive, solution," said Nancy.

Eventually, it became more and more apparent that the lack of storage and dated appliances, including a small 27-inch oven, was simply not accommodating to their lifestyle.

"With all of the entertaining we do, I constantly had to choreograph how I was going to cook a meal and serve everything at the same time," Nancy said. So, they decided it was finally time to remodel the kitchen, including the cabinetry. Eric and Nancy consulted with designer Marge Heinz at Dubell Lumber in Medford, NJ, who was able to offer cabinet storage ideas while working within their budget to give them an updated kitchen that incorporated the open, inviting style they desired and the space solutions they desperately needed.

Eric and Nancy selected Aristokraft Cabinetry in the warm Saddle cabinet finish. They chose Aristokraft for its affordability and versatility in kitchen cabinet options, and appreciated the ability to complement the existing areas in their home.

Their designer incorporated several large roll trays, spice racks, and ample storage options including a spacious pantry cabinet for food items and an oversized kitchen island with plenty of workspace and cabinetry storage. The star of the kitchen, however, is the fabulous stainless steel double-wall oven, which fits the kitchen’s traditional style beautifully. Nancy said, "I'm no longer juggling to try to serve a meal!"
