Elegant kitchen remodel turns 'dated' into 'refined' using Kemper Cabinetry
When they built their house 14 years ago, Sal and Lisa picked out a kitchen that made sense at the time: white cabinets, white tile flooring, and blue Formica countertop, but after a while the white color combined with two children and several pets as well as the quickly outdated color of the countertop made them ready for a change. So to celebrate Lisa's 40th birthday, Sal surprised her with the gift of creating her dream kitchen.
Together with the help of their designer, Michael Moscaritolo at Windsor Architectural Woodworking, Sal and Lisa made a wish list for their new kitchen: it had to be efficient, full of storage solutions, and, above all else, very beautiful. The transformation was dramatic: wood grain porcelain floors in a contemporary dark grey color, Kemper solid cherry wood cabinets in the Kingston cabinet door style and Chocolate finish, stainless steel professional grade appliances, and graceful crystal chandeliers. Lisa's favorite feature of the kitchen remodel, though, is the natural mother of pearl shell backsplash, which unifies all the components and adds a touch of the ocean, Lisa's favorite place.
For this busy family, the kitchen, while always the hub of the home, is now a haven – a warm, beautiful place to gather together and share family meals each day.
"My kitchen is a place I can walk into and just let out a sigh of happiness whenever I'm in it," Lisa said. "It's perfect!"
